25 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 11

Hello!  Today I'm sharing a tag I made using some fabulous Birch Press Designs dies.
The Marisol Ornament Layer Set is gorgeous!  It makes the most beautiful ornaments.  As the name suggests, it's designed to be layered, but it probably will come to no surprise to you that I simplified things. ;) I had full intentions of layering the dies, I really did, but each layer was so beautiful on it's own I just couldn't stand to cover them up even the tiniest bit.
Carly Tee Minner is a favorite cardmaker of mine and frequently uses Glimmer Paste.  After seeing so many of her fabulous creations, I finally got some of my own, and it is pretty addicting.  If you can stand the wait time for it to dry, it gives the most beautiful irredescent shine.  You've gotta trust me on this one because the photos just don't do it justice.
I covered each of the decorative layers with glimmer paste and let them sit overnight.  You definitely don't need to let them sit that long, but I was just prepping for the day ahead.  It was a little tricky because the paste sometimes filled in the openings, but nothing that a needle couldn't take care of.
I was 100% thinking of my mom when I made these, so I chose a rich burgundy (a color I know she loves) for the base of my first tag.  On the second tag I chose a coral color.  I happen to know this beautiful coral color will be on her Christmas tree this year (because I bought the ornaments...heehee), and I thought it would be fun to have the tag match her tree.
Even though this is supposed to be the bottom of the three layers on the Marisonal Ornamanet Set, I just think it is so pretty on its own!
Thank you for visiting today.  Make sure to head on over to Tracey's blog next to catch to check out a bunch of amazing tags.  Hopefully you'll spot something that inspires you to play along.
