C9 Whimsical Wings Butterfly

Hello!  While attempting to clear out my photos, I stumbled upon this card that I made many months ago.  I rarely take photographs of cards that aren't assignments, but I fell in love with this one and remembered wanting to document it before I mailed it off.

I used Concord and 9th's Whimsical Wings Bundle, which is something I gravitate to often.  I've used it for birthdays, thank yous, baby showers, etc.  I just think it is beautiful!  And it is easy to create with.  Sometimes I go really detailed with the stamping and stenciling, and other times I just die cut the butterfly.  No matter what, it is always so pretty.
I chose a lovely color palette using some of my favorite C9 colors - Ballet Slipper, Pink Lemonade, Sorbet, Clover, and Evergreen. This time I used both the Whimsical Wings Stencil Pack on my background and the Whimsical Wings Stamp Set on the butterfly.  I stamped just the basic images and opted not to add any of the fill-ins.  Then I die cut an assembled my butterfly.
This card has me dreaming of spring....isn't that a happy thought?  Thank so much for stopping by and letting me share my card with you. :)

Pretty Pink Posh Interactive Cake Card

Good morning!  Earlier this month Pretty Pink Posh released it's first interactive die - the Interactive Cake Dies. My teammates made some AMAZING birthday cards using it, and there is a great intro video tutorial in the product description here that you can watch to see one way to put it together.  I made mine before the video was recorded, so I put mine together a little differently (more on that later).
I started by die cutting the major Interactive Cake Die pieces (the large cake base, the smaller inside layer, and the pull tab).  I blended a light ballet slipper pink on the larger layer and adorned both layers with the beautiful Spring Corner Frame to mimic lace.
I added a few gold embossed sentiments from the Sentiment Strips: Birthday stamp set to the inside layer as well as the Large Celebrate Shadow Script at the top of my card.  Then I die cut and added some candles to the top by the pull tab.
The diagram below shows how I put the layers together, so that the hidden layer pulls out but not completely. First, I cut a small strip of cardstock and adhered it to the bottom of the inside cake layer (represented by the pink line).  You want it to extend just beyond the width of that smaller layer.
On the back side of the large cake layer, I built a track with narrow foam strips (the blue lines in the photo).  I wanted the smaller layer to always show a bit, so I did not put the foam tape at the very bottom, but rather a 1/2" or so up.  The most important pieces of foam will be the two that jut in at the top (where the red arrows are pointing).  These will stop the insert from sliding all the way upward because the strip of cardstock you added to the bottom of the smaller layer will catch on them as you pull upward
After I had it all assembled, I removed the backing to the foam tape and adhered it to an evergreen card base.  It's a little difficult to explain, but if you watch the video link above, Mindy shows a really easy way to put it together.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Pretty Pink Posh Simple Valentines

This morning I realized that I never published this most I had written a month and a half ago.  Oy vey.  Anyhow, I decided it's still February, so I might as well share now.  These cards are quick and easy, but you know, sometimes that's refreshing.  (I'm especially feeling that after the hours spent toiling over a couple cards last night that still remain unfinished.)  Anyhow, my first card uses just two products: the Heart Cover Plate and Sentiment Strips: Valentine.

I die cut several hearts.  Some are cardstock, some are ink blended, some are patterned paper.  Nothing fancy but fun to mix and match.  A quick stamped sentiment from Sentiment Strips: Valentine and my card was done.

And not wanting the Heart Cover Plate to go to waste, I made a second card.
I used the Valentine Words Stencil to fill the negative space, and then I did a little ombre ink blending on the XOXO Coordinating Dies.  I added a little chunky glitter and called it a day.
As they say...that's all folks! :) I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Blog Hop - Day 4

Good morning!  Welcome to day 4 of the Pretty Pink Posh birthday blog hop.  You should have arrived here from the talented Rebecca Keppel's blog.  We are celebrating Pretty Pink Posh's 10th birthday, which is such a happy milestone and naturally there is a giveaway (details below).

I wanted to make something bright and colorful.  And just FYI, all of these fun, new products are available right now.  (You can find them  here.) Today I have two projects featuring the new Birthday Treat Box die set.  Isn't the scalloped detail so cute?

It die cuts the treat box in just one piece, so it is super simple to assemble.  All you have to do is fold on the score lines and add a strip of adhesive to adhere the overlapping side panels.

The treat box holds quite a lot. I tucked two very thick, fat cookies inside mine, and there was still some wiggle room.  I decorated my box with some strips that are about 1/4" in width (found in the Simple Strips Dies) as well as the little stitched bow included in the Birthday Treat Box die set.

All of the extra dies in the Birthday Treat Box die set have stitching on both the inside and outside of the image, which makes them perfect for using both positive and negative cuts.  I embraced the negative cuts and outside stitching on my card.

Keeping with the CAS theme, I let those colorful Stripes sing with an expanded rainbow of fun colors.  I used all Concord & 9th colors with a few Papertrey Ink mixed in (marked with a *).  The colors are lilac, fig, aqua sky, blueberry, aqua mist*, tropical teal*, sprout, clover, lemon tart*, honeycomb, grapefruit, berry sorbet*, pink lemonade, and dragonfruit.

I stamped three sentiments from the Sentiment Strips: Birthday stamp set.  These sets are great staples in your crafty stash.

Thanks so much for visiting today!  To add to the fun, Pretty Pink Posh has two free gift offers as well as several giveaways. There are 5 $30 gift certificates up for grabs (one winner each hop day).  Winners will be randomly picked along the blog hop, so make sure to check out the full blog hop list below, so you don't miss any stops...or any chances to win. ;) (Comments must be left by 11:59 PST on 2/16/2024.) Winners will be announced on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog

Pretty Pink Posh New Release

Good morning, friends!  Pretty Pink Posh has a brand new birthday release that went live this morning.  Yay!  You can find all the new products here, but I thought I'd share a few projects I made using several of the new dies.  I blogged about these projects on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog during the die sneak peek a few days ago, but received some feedback that the colors were too washed out to really see the details of the dies and cards, so I re-photographed them.  Hopefully these give you a better view. (You can still find my older post here if you are interested in knowing how I put the cards together.)

Happy Birthday Card Supplies:
This one I made for my niece, so I personalized the balloon. :)
Celebrate Card Supplies:
Big Birthday Cupcake Dies (cupcake, banner)
Star Cover Plate Die (star cover plate, star "cookies")
Interactive Cake Dies (small candle)
And for the last one, I turned the Big Birthday Cupcake  into a giant stacked ice cream cone, modifying a party hat for the cone.  These dies would also look fantastic paired with the previously released fruit bowl dies as a giant ice cream sundae.

So glad you stopped by today!  If you want to see the rest of this super fun new release, you can find it all here.  Have the happiest day, my friends!
