Pretty Pink Posh Koala Halloween

Hello!  I've got one last Halloween card to share with you this year.  My kiddos are loving all of the Pretty Pink Posh little critters that I've added to my stash of crafty supplies.  Two of my littles really like koalas, so I used Pretty Pink Posh's Koala Friends set and Halloween-ified them.

After coloring the koalas, I added some cute Halloween accesories from Pretty Pink Posh's Boo stamp set and a prize wining pumpkin ;) that I selectively inked from the Fall Borders stamp set.  The color blocks were cut with Pretty Pink Posh's Story Book 1 die.  Confession: I've had this die for YEARS and I think this is the first time I've used it in it's entirety. Why did it take me so long?! It anchors everything in such a happy, colorful way.  I finished the card with Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Rose Gold Jewels.  They add a fun, magical quality as they change color in the light.

Speaking of fun and magic, I hope the rest of your week is filled with a little bit of both.  This is certainly a year of unique celebrations for Halloween, but we're hoping to create some fun memories as a family.  Wish us luck! :)

PPP: Hedgehugs

Hello!  We read a lot of childrens books around here, and while we read I'm constantly thinking "Oh, I wish I could make that into a card!"  Well, today is the result of one of the few times that I acually turned that thought into action.  Not long ago as I was gathering our autumn books I saw Hedgehugs: Autumn Hide-and-Squeak, and this card was the result.

I started by embossing one of the strips from Pretty Pink Posh's Fall Borders over and over again until I filled the entire card front.  Then I pulled out several inks from Concord and 9th and The Stamp Market and blended them using a ligther hand for the colors at the top.  From top to bottom - Wheat (C9), Buttercup (C9), Melon Orange (TSM), Grapefruit (C9), Sorbet (C9), Bubblegum (TSM), and Honeysuckle (C9).

The colors truly blended beatifully, but sadly this is one of those cards that just did not photograph well.  Sigh.  You win some, you lose some, but just imagine in your head that the colors are vibrant yet soft and transition smoothly from one to the next. ;) The oranges aren't nearly so bright as they appear in the photo and really are a lovely blend from a soft yellow to coral.
Moving on!  I used Prismacolor pencils to color a few images from Pretty Pink Posh's Hedgehog Friends, popped them up on the card, and added a heat embossed sentiment from Simple Sentiments.
And there you have it - two little hedgehogs giving a hedgehug that will hopefully help one of my nieces get feeling better just a bit quicker now.  Have a lovely rest of the week my friends!  Thanks for stopping by!

PPP: Halloween Sneak Peek

Hello, October!  I'm welcoming you with a big smile. :) I'm over on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog this morning sharing a couple Halloween cards for their Halloween Theme Week, which seems like a pretty perfect way to start the month.

Here's a little peek, but I hope you'll pop over and see them in full.  (You can find them HERE.) They were inspired by my kiddos and are perfect for those of us who are short on time.  I hope this is the start to a great month for all of you!
