Get Well Flower Basket

When I was designing cards for Pretty Pink Posh's May release I had a friend preparing for surgery.  I tend to like my cards much more when I make them with someone in mind, so I used my friend as inspiration for this card.  She has the most incredible flower gardens all throughout her yard and generously shares her flowers with others.  She is constantly putting together arrangements to brighten someone's day and brings beautiful arrangements each Sunday to put in the chapel at church.

I knew that a basket full of hand-picked flowers (or rather hand crafted in this case) would be something she would appreciate, so I pulled out my Spring Foliage and Easter Basket dies.  I cut flowers from Concord & 9th’s honeysucklebuttercupsorbetsprout, and parsley cardstock, and I cut the basket out of wheat cardstock.

I dressed up my basket with a little twine, then adhered it to a white panel dry embossed with the Mini Grid Stencil, which I added to a light blue card base.  I finished off my card with a sentiment created with stamps from Simple Sentiments and the Birthday Scripts stamps and dies.  I forgot to take a picture, but I also stamped a sentiment from the Thoughtful Greetings stamp set on the inside of the card.  I really ought to do that more often!

Thank you for visiting today!  Wishing you all the best this week!

HUGS

Last week I realized I had several cards that I never shared last month, most because the Spring Foliage dies sold out so quickly during Pretty Pink Posh’s May release.  They are stock again (yay!), so I'm sharing one today.

This card is a quickie that only takes a few favorite products to put together.  I started with the Trellis Stencil.  When this stencil is dry embossed it kind of reminds me of a quilt, which enhances the warm feeling I was going for with this card.

I covered a white panel with various flowers and leaves from the Spring Foliage dies cut from Concord & 9th’s aqua sky, honeysuckle, buttercup, sprout, and clover cardstock.  Next, I die cut “HUGS” from that panel using the Hugs Coordinating Dies

I layered several HUGS for added dimension, adhered them to my card, and called it a day!
I mailed this card off weeks ago, and I hope it brought some warm hugs and cheer.  And I hope that it brought some cheer to you today!  Thanks for visiting!

Pretty Pink Posh + Thermoweb Collaboration

Hello, friends! This week Pretty Pink Posh is collaborating with Thermoweb to show how fantastically these products combine.  (If you missed the first project I shared, you can catch it over on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog.)  The Deco Foils are so pretty that I decided to go for a more elegant feel on my card.

I started by cutting some black cardstock with the Slimline: Floral Cover Die.  I did not pop out any of the negative pieces and adhered the entire thing onto a back card base.  Next I pulled out my much-loved Spring Foliage Dies and cut them in Concord & 9th CloverSorbet, and white cardstock.  I arranged the foliage on opposite corners on my card to frame the sentiment.

Now for the fun part!  My sentiment was made by cutting the fabulous new Just a Note Script Die out of Thermoweb's Deco Foil Peel and Stick Toner Sheets and running it through the laminator with a Champagne Deco Foil Transfer Sheet.  The result is a stunning, shimmery gold that isn't too yellow.  It's just perfect!  And the best part is that all you have to do is peel the backing off and you can adhere the foiled die cut right to your card.  I love that!

It's amazing how the addition of just a little bit of shine on a card can add so much.  The process was so much easier than I expected, too!

I'm so glad you visited today!  Thanks for stopping by.  I used a bunch more Thermoweb products on the other card that I made.  Here is a peek of the project I am sharing on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog today.  You can find it HERE

Wishing you a lovely rest of the week!

Grad, Sending Smiles! (Pretty Pink Posh Instagram Hop)

Hello, friends!  I'm happy to be participating in an Instagram hop this morning with Pretty Pink Posh.  I shared several projects on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog a week or so ago using the new Across the Miles Stamp Set, but I was having so much fun with it that I made more.

I made this a month ago with graduations in full swing and it was inspired by my niece's little silver car and dreams to head out west for college.

I started by stenciling stars using the new Dino Dig Stencil onto my slimline card.  Then I sprinkled on a few Silver Star Sequins for a bit of sparkle.  I added a road using the Layered Road Stencils. (A little tip:  Using a white gel pen with the stencil creates crisp white lines every time.) Below the road I stamped a sentiment from Across the Miles.
Next, I did some simple coloring with colored pencils.  I added a little car from Across the Miles and balloons from the Balloon Alphabet Stamp Set.  In order to make the balloon strings long enough, I drew them.  I simply laid out the balloon arrangement on white cardstock, drew the lines, picked up all the balloons with Press'n Seal Wrap, and then fussy cut the lines out. I popped up the car and balloons at varying heights with dimensional foam, and called it a day.
Make sure you head on over to my Instagram account to hop along the Instagram Hop.  As always, there are gift certificates to be won.  Good luck and happy hopping!
