Hello, friends! Time seems to be going by increasingly fast. We are already on day 19! I keep thinking I need more days because I have more ideas than can fit in the days left. Today the team is featuring our sponsor - Waffle Flower.
As I was looking back on my tags I realized I hadn't done a technique that I love to do, and that is to stamp a background. So I did just that using a bunch of images from Waffle Flower's Stocking Stamp Set. The key to stamping backgrounds is to start with your largest images first, and then go back and fill in with the smaller ones.
Typicallly I'll leave a little more space between the images, but I also wanted to do a spotlight technique, and for that to work, things needed to be stamped tighter together. After I stamped the background, I lightly traced an oval in the middle of the tag, then I used markers to color only the space inside of the oval. After I finished coloring, I went back and erased the lines. I think this is such a fun, easy way to create a focal point! I finished the tag by embossing a sentiment on black and adding a little holly.
I'm so glad you visited today! You'll definitely want to hop over to Tracey's blog next. There is a really fun variety of tags being shared today.
How clever to only color part of the tag. It gives it a great look!
ReplyDeleteWow this is different, I love the spotlighting technique, but never thought to just partially colour the image. super cute tag.
ReplyDeleteI love how you partially colored it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried either technique. It's a cute tag and I love the look of it. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteGreat tag! Your sentiment really pops against the colored images!
ReplyDeleteI love how only a few items are colored on this tag - [because I am not good at coloring] but your tag is fabulous and the black and white banner -- super cool - TFS

ReplyDeleteSuch a darling tag! I thought it was the cutest stamp (in fact, I think you have just started to design a large background stamp!) and was surprised that you were able to put together so many. And the spot light coloring is great!
