Pretty Pink Posh Easter Eggs (+ a SALE!)

Good morning!  It's starting to look like spring around here (minus the snow this last weekend), and each day it seems a new tree blossoms and more birds can be seen.  We especially have a lot of robins in our neck of the woods.  I was thinking about these sweet birds as I made these cards.
Pretty Pink Posh recently released the Layered Eggs Stencils.  One stencil has just the eggs and the second layering stencil has cute patterns to dress up the egg.  The results are fabulous together, but for today’s cards I used just the egg stencil.  It always makes me happy when I can use my supplies in multiple ways.
I ran the egg stencil through my die cutting machine with rubber embossing mats in order create a panel with raised eggs.  I kept the stencil in place and blended on soft pastel colors.  I used Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, and Tattered Rose distress inks.  It's okay to blend a little unevenly.  I think the variation in color makes them look more realistic.
Finally, I used a paintbrush to splatter 2-3 additional colors onto the eggs. This last step really adds so much!  And per the norm, I didn’t want to cover up my background once it was complete, so I stacked a few Fancy Easter Script Dies (aren’t they beautiful?!) and called it a day.
I really love the natural look of these eggs and I’m excited to mail these to my family.  The eggs would have still been wonderful flat, but embossing them first really added something special. And the best part is that it didn't add any bulk to the card.  I call that a big win!
As luck would have it, all of Easter products at Pretty Pink Posh are on sale this week. Hooray!  You can click HERE to head on over and shop for your favorites.  The Fancy Easter Script Dies and Layered Eggs Stencils are definitely two of mine.

PPP Instagram Hop: Spring Chicks

Hello, friends! Today I'm celebrating the new Pretty Pink Posh spring release with an Instagram Hop.

There are so many darling products in this release!  Something I noticed right away were the chubby little chicks.  They pop up in a couple stamp sets as well as the cute-as-could-be Easter Delight Clay Confetti (which you can see sprinkled in the photos).  I grabbed a few chicks from the Easter Wreath and Easter Signs stamp sets and created a CAS card, adding a couple extra touches with doodling and dimension.

I wanted a really simple graphic feel to this card, so after stamping a few chicks from Easter Wreath and Easter Signs in a grid, I did some very basic coloring with Tombow alcohol markers. I have a pack of yellows and decided to use a different shade for each chick.
I wanted to add a few extra touches, but nothing that would be too distracting, so I stamped and fussy cut all the darkest chicks a second time and popped them up with dimensional foam.  Then, I did the same thing with the egg shells.  Finally I doodled on a bit of grass and added a sentiment from the Easter Signs stamp set.

These little chicks make me smile in the same way daffodils do when I see them starting to pop up.  I just love them!  Make sure to head on over to my Instagram account, so you can join the fun and get entered in to win a Pretty Pink Posh gift certificate.  This release is one of my favorites and has so many cute things.  It won't be any trouble at all to find something you love.  Best of luck, friends!

Pretty Pink Posh Instagram Birthday Hop (discount code & prizes!)

Good Morning!  Today I am participating in a big birthday Instagram hop for Pretty Pink Posh.  This release is packed full of super fun products.  Some items sold out quickly, but you can preorder them now.  I used several new release items on my tag today, and I also used the not-yet-released Crafty Critters stamps + dies that you can receive as a free gift with a qualifying purchase (see below).

I created my tag with Pretty Pink Posh’s new Birthday Circles Coordinating Dies.  I absolutely love this tag die!  I originally planned to use the coordinating stamps, but one of my cute nieces celebrates her birthday this weekend, and she has a beloved chubby purple mouse stuffie, so I just had to use Crafty Critters instead.  It was too perfect!

I pulled out my prismacolor pencils to color the mouse and the Balloon Number.  (I have better control with them than markers.) Then I cut them out with the coordinating dies

I turned my tag into a shaker and filled it with the Rainbow Sprinkles Clay Confetti.  It has such bright, fun colors!

We are so excited to tie this onto my niece’s gift this weekend.  My children recognized the mouse right away and have each put in a request for a chubby critter of their own.

Make sure to head to my Instagram, so you can enter to win a $50 Pretty Pink Posh gift card.  There are three days of hops, so you have lots of chances.  Good luck and thanks for visiting today!

Sending Lots of LOVE

Happy Valentine's Day!  Just popping in quickly to send a little love your way.  Last week I shared a valentines card using a bunch of little hearts that I die cut with the small die in Pretty Pink Posh’s Valentine Hearts Dies.  Well, today's card is made with the sheet of all those negative cuts.  I turned it into a shaker and filled them with the adorable Love Letters Clay Confetti.

I created the sentiment by combining stamps from Sending Love and Love Balloons and mounted it onto a layered panel cut with the Stitched Waves Dies. (They are technically the negative pieces, but I love that the dies can serve more than one purpose.)

Little Love Card

Good morning!  I have a little (and truly it is little) valentine card to share today.  The fun thing about making crads with specific people in mind is that sometimes it takes you a bit out of your crafting norms.

I'm not often drawn to soft pinks, but they fit this recipient perfectly...soft and lovely and warm and kind.  I love her.
I die cut the small die in Pretty Pink Posh’s Valentine Hearts Dies several times and placed them in rows on my card base.  Then I blended a soft pink ink over the whole thing and randomly placed a few white hearts on top.
Next I used the large heart die from All My Love Dies and covered the bottom with Pink Blush and Bubblegum pearls.  I love how they kind of look like floating bubbles. Finally I added the love sentiment from the Valentine Hearts stamp set and cut it with the coordinating dies.

This is such a simple little card, but it reminded me of the joy of making homemade valentines.  I'll be helping my kiddos finish theirs today.  I look forward to making valentines with them each year. :) Wishing you a wonderful rest of your week!  Thanks for stopping by!
