Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY!

Good Morning!  Welcome to Day 2 of the Pretty Pink Posh August Release Blog Hop!  You should be arriving from the very talented Rebecca Keppel‘s blog.

This release has so many fun Fall and Halloween goodies, and they are available right now in the Pretty Pink Posh shop.  I was really excited to see the Spider Web Die.  It's a great size for a single focal point, or you can use it in multiples like I did on my card.

This card comes together in a snap!  I simply flicked black paint onto my card base and adhered a trio of spider webs.  I happy discovery that I made along the way is that the smallest stripe in the Simple Strips Dies is the perfect size string for the spider.
After placing the dangling spider on my card, I added a layered sentiment using the Trick or Treat Script Die in black, white, and kraft cardstock.
Every now and again you just need a no-fuss card that comes together quickly.  These dies are perfect for that and so much more!  Now, you are in for a treat because there are so many amazing projects being shared today as part of the hop.  Your next stop is the incredible Wanda Guess.  Make sure you comment along the way for your chance to win (details below).  Happy hopping, friends!

Bright Birthday

Good morning!  I have a bright, bold birthday card to share with you today.  Every time I think of this particular friend of mine, I'm filled with happiness and these bright colors seemed to convey the happy feeling inside my heart.

I started by cutting several of the largest strip in the Simple Strips Dies and creating my background pattern.  Next, I stamped lots and lots of Spring Flowers in a rainbow of colors and cut them out using the Coordinating Dies,
I arranged the flowers around a sentiment from my scrap pile.  Long ago I cut the Happy Birthday Script Dies, mounted them on white, and fussy cut it out.  I'm glad all the cutting didn't go to waste. :)
The final touch was to add Cherry Red Pearls to the centers of a few flowers to tie all that red in.
I sure hope this card brings a smile to your face today.  I know I can't help but smile every time I see it.  I just love making cards for people!

Just a Note

Hello, again and happy Saturday!  I have another card made from my scrap pile to share.

Months and months ago I stenciled this background using Pretty Pink Posh’s Peonies Stencil. (I really do love these flowers.) I liked the white on navy and tried many times to complete the card, but nothing seemed to work.
Now that so much time has gone by, new products have been released and the larger scale of the new-this-year Just A Note Script Die was just what I needed.  I decided simple was the way to go.
The very first time I attempted to make this card I tried a navy and gold combo.  I’m glad I stuck with it here.
That's it for me today. :) Believe it or not, I'll be back soon with another card.  Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Happy Thoughts

Good morning!  It’s been a while since I shared a card, but I’ve actually made several this month.  This card came from cleaning out a pile of scraps.  It feels a bit more eclectic than my typical, but I kind of like it.

I started with a sheet of negative cuts from the Spring Foliage Die  and backed it with navy paper.  Then I framed it with a yellow frame in my scrap pile from the Nature Essentials Die.

Since my background was a bit busy, I wanted a big, bold focal point.  Pretty Pink Posh’s Peonies Stencil worked like a charm. I blended several pinks and corals for the flowers and greens and teals on the leaves, and then cut them out.

I finished off my card with a sentiment from the Thoughtful Greetings Stamp Set and got an immense sense of satisfaction for using up some of those bits and pieces that I can’t quite seem to part with (but at the same time drive me crazy because they sometimes sit in a pile for years…not kidding.) I hope you are headed into a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for visiting, friends!

Get Well Flower Basket

When I was designing cards for Pretty Pink Posh's May release I had a friend preparing for surgery.  I tend to like my cards much more when I make them with someone in mind, so I used my friend as inspiration for this card.  She has the most incredible flower gardens all throughout her yard and generously shares her flowers with others.  She is constantly putting together arrangements to brighten someone's day and brings beautiful arrangements each Sunday to put in the chapel at church.

I knew that a basket full of hand-picked flowers (or rather hand crafted in this case) would be something she would appreciate, so I pulled out my Spring Foliage and Easter Basket dies.  I cut flowers from Concord & 9th’s honeysucklebuttercupsorbetsprout, and parsley cardstock, and I cut the basket out of wheat cardstock.

I dressed up my basket with a little twine, then adhered it to a white panel dry embossed with the Mini Grid Stencil, which I added to a light blue card base.  I finished off my card with a sentiment created with stamps from Simple Sentiments and the Birthday Scripts stamps and dies.  I forgot to take a picture, but I also stamped a sentiment from the Thoughtful Greetings stamp set on the inside of the card.  I really ought to do that more often!

Thank you for visiting today!  Wishing you all the best this week!
