Falling Leaves - PPP Insta Hop

Good morning!  The air is crisp and chill outside, and I’m super happy to be joining Pretty Pink Posh’s Instagram Hop (click HERE) today.  I've been so anxious to share this card with you!  I love autumn, I love Pretty Pink Posh’s new release, and I love creating new color combinations.  This card has all those things.

Today I’m using Pretty Pink Posh’s Falling Leaves stamp set, and I think the name of this stamp set perfectly suits the design of my card.  I pulled out 7 colors and did lots of stamping.  I used Concord and 9th's Sea Glass, Evergreen, Stardust, Mushroom, Dove, and Wheat as well as Bordering Blue - a retired Stampin' Up color (if anyone knows a similar blue grey color currently on the market, please let me know ;) ). 

With a pencil, I lightly drew two curved lines to guide my stamping.  I assigned each color to a particular leaf stamp from Falling Leaves and started by stamping three of each leaf, then I went back in an filled in the open spaces.  I ended up adding in one small leaf from Fall Corners to make things nice and full.  Then I flicked on some ink splatters in Mushroom.  I finished the card by embossing a sentiment from Falling Leaves onto Stardust and Mushroom cardstock and then cutting it out with the coordinating dies. The dies create the perfect border around the word and are super easy to align.  Love that!  I adhered my panel to a Wheat cardbase and called it a day.

PPP September Release Blog Hop (+ GIVEAWAY)

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the Pretty Pink Posh September Product Release Blog Hop!  This release has so many awesome products (all available now!) and today I am focusing on one that just might be my favorite product from the entire year.  That's a big statement.  But it's true!  Before I get into my projects, though, I just want to remind you to leave a comment on this post and all the stops along the hop because Pretty Pink Posh is giving away three $25 gift certificates (details below).  

 

My cards today start with color.  Here's the back story....Not long ago I found myself in a big crafty rut.  That tends to happy when I have a heavy/broken heart.  I truly just couldn't create.  After some weeks/months I was desperate to bring myself out of it, but nothing seemed to work.  I finally decided color makes me happy, so I started swatching some of my favorite color combinations with simple rectangles.  Those swatches inspired the card below. 

I played around with colors and settled on Papertrey's saffron spice, melon berry, terracotta tile, and enchanted evening.  And oh how I adore this color combination!  This card is small (about 3x4.5").  I simply used my color rectangles and added a sentiment from Falling Leaves.  

Okay, there are lots and lots of crafty products that I love, but even amongst those there are some in a special category of their own that I truly LOVE.  And let me tell you, Pretty Pink Posh's Fall Foliage immediately jumped into my LOVE category.  Friends, you are going to want to add this one to your stash.  All the rest of my cards were created using it.  Once I got started, I just couldn't stop! 

I started with a simple duo.  The first card is just a long branch from Fall Foliage in each of the four colors with a sentiment from Woodland Thanks.  The second is the same card, but just stepped up a notch with an added Scallop Frame and a secondary sentiment from Woodland Thanks. 

Next I used more Fall Foliage, but this time I used it as an accent. 

The new Elegant Pumpkin die is a beauty and easy to paper piece.  It looked great on it's own, but I tucked some of the Fall Foliage stems behind it for a little extra pizzaz and dimension.  

I stamped a simple sentiment from Woodland Thanks and the card was complete.  A little side note - Though I focused on dies for this particular post, I highly recommend the Woodland Thanks stamp set.  The sentiments are fabulous, and the stamps are basically the same images as the dies in Fall Foliage but just at a different scale. 

I saved my favorite card for last...  

Using nearly all the leftover Fall Foliage die cuts I had, I created a background pattern on my card base.  If I could turn this pattern into fabric, I would in a heartbeat!  I adore it. 

I used the previously released Thank You Script Die, mounted it on white cardstock, and trimmed out the outline.  Then I popped it up on the card.  

I started to tidy my space and throw my scraps away and immediately regretted it.  I looked at the Fall Foliage negative die cut sheets and knew there was potential.  I couldn't rescue the terracotta color, but I turned the other three colors into simple cards.  They don't have a sentiment on them because I like to have a few cards in my stash that work for any occasion that might arise.  Plus, I think the shapes are beautiufl on their own and didn't want to cover them up. :) 

Ahh, one last look at them all together. Halloween Sprinkles Card

Hello!  I made this card about a month ago, but held off sharing it when all the Halloween clay confetti sold out so quickly in Pretty Pink Posh’s August release.  Some are back in stock now and we're a bit closer to Halloween, so I thought now would be a better time to share.  

I started by dry embossing my card base with Pretty Pink Posh's Trellis Stencil.  It adds great texture without distracting from the focal point of the card.  Next, I pulled out the Boo Shaker Die. I trimmed the word "boo" out to leave only the pumpkin outline, and instead die cut the Happy Halloween Script Die in pink and orange for the sentiment.  

I wanted the card to have a fun, playful feel, so I pulled out several different confetti from Clay Confetti Wheel #4.  (They are also sold individually.)  I embossed the bat image from the Halloween Wreath Stamp Set and stamped the ghosts from the Halloween Circles Stamp Set and arranged them to float on my card.  I filled in the extra spaces on what I affectionately dubbed the party trail with silver stars sequins and 4mm pink peonies sequins.   After I finished the card I was tempted to make another using these same sequins and stamps, but instead using them as the fillers in a shaker card.  I might still...it ended up being such a fun combination.  

Thanks to Pretty Pink Posh's cute release, my Halloween stash is building.  I love sending cards on the holidays, and these new goodies are sure making it easier to create the cards I'll need.  I hope you are headed into a blessed Sabbath. Thanks so much for stopping by to visit.  

Boo Shaker (PPP Instagram Hop)

Good morning!  Over on my Instagram account I’m participating in a hop to showcase more of the latest Pretty Pink Posh August release.  

I absolutely love the clay confetti in this release, so I made a shaker card.  I paired Candy Corn Confetti with the new Boo Shaker Die.  The Boo Shaker die can be used multiple ways.  As you can see, you can leave it as is (I just doubled up the sentiment), or you can trim the center out and use the jack-o-lantern face cutout instead. 

If you look really close, you’ll see my favorite part. I used the Candy Background Stencil to emboss the background.  The detail and texture on it is so wonderful in person!

Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop Day 3 + GIVEAWAY

This release is full of so many fun products, but the one that stole my heart right away is Monster Hugs.  It has the cutest little crew of monsters!  I used a bunch of them on my cards today.  

I wanted my cards to have lots of color, but didn't necessarily want to color, so I heat embossed all the images with white embossing powder onto raspberry pink, orange, bright yellow, and black cardstock.  Then I die cut them with the Monster Hugs coordinating dies.  

My first card has a little line of trick-or-treaters.  I'll let you guess which one was inspired by my daughter. :) I placed the Spooky Fence Die along the bottom of my card base and popped up the little critters in front.  I wanted the pink monster to really stand out, so I added some glitter and a googley eye. 

I decided to create a sentiment that would lead your eye down to the little pink monster, so I did an ombre of sorts with the Trick or Treat Script Die set and added just a few stars that I cut from the Halloween Wreath coordinating dies.

I thought the googley eye looked so cute that I knew I needed a whole card full of googley eye monsters.  I pulled out the Slimline: Peekaboow Windows Die and set to work on that next.  

I added just a few glossy black jewels along with the floating googley eye monsters in the windows and finished it all off with an embossed sentiment from Monster Hugs.  I really appreciate that this set was designed to be used for more occasions than just Halloween.

I still had a pretty big pile of monsters left, so I took them all out and arranged them on my final card around the Happy Halloween Script die set. 

I poppped the monsters up for a little added dimension.  This was such a quick and easy card...I love when that happens!

I can't help but smile when I see these cute little monsters all together.
