Good morning! I'm so excited that not only is this the first 12 Kits of Occasions post of the new year, but it also is my month to host. :) I chose my color scheme about 8 months ago, and it is one that I love, so I packed my kit full of things that I love. We have a few new faces joining us this month. Birgit Norton is joinus us as our newest Design Team member. Yay! I invited my friend Leigh Penner (who I love!) to be my guest designer, and we have a second guest designer as well, the super sweet Kathy McCloskey who won my kit giveaway.
I have so much fun collecting supplies throughout the year for my kits. This kit was extra fun to use because with the exception of just a couple things, I hadn't used any of the supplies before I created my cards. First up is one of my favorites. I love this little fox. He's a digital image (Fantastic Mr. Fox by Just ME Prints), and I think he is adorable. I'm also so excited to finally use this floral spray from Clearly Besotted's Fairytale Ending set and MFT's Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Circle Window. I've loved them both since the first time I saw them.
Next up is a super simple card for my husband. I absolutely love this line of word dies from Simon Says Stamp and wish I had every single one.
Next up are the fun Flashy Florals from MFT and a favorite Concord & 9th set of mine, Kindhearted. After all, to be kind is one of my biggest goals in life.
On a trip to Michael's a few months ago I stumbled across a pad of DCWV Favor Boxes that just happened to be almost the exact colors from my kit. There are a bunch of different patterns and styles all pre-cut and scored, which made putting the box together easy peasy.

The paper pad even came with different tags/bows/banners to embellish the boxes, but I used a flower form Altenew's Beautiful Day to top it off instead.
This next one was kind of fun. I had stamped out a few of the images from Altenew's Adore You set on a paper for everyone with fairly big spaces around each image, so they could cut them out. But when I got my paper out to cut out the flowers, I really liked the black and white images all together, so I got my stamp set back out and filled in all the spaces with smaller stamped images. The little scallops are actually a row of circles from one of the patterned papers that I cut out.
My final card uses the Big Hugs Die from MFT and Concord & 9th's Hello Lovely, which I have had for month's but never used. I was a bit intimidated to color it, which was silly because they have stamps that do all the work for you! I did, however, opt to try out my Zig markers to color the images. I'm still trying to figure out Zigs. I decided to use a paintbrush this time instead of a waterbrush like I usually use with them, and I liked the results a lot better.
And as I mentioned before, with the exception of two things, all the stamps and dies I used on my cards today were NBUS, so I am entering them into Darnell's awesome NBUS #10 Challenge as well as Simon Says Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge. And as a fun side note: Darnell's optional theme was to use whatever holiday it is to inspire your card (you know, the silly holidays you've probably never heard of). For instance, did you know that today is National Inspire Your Heart With Art Day? Seems fitting for the occasion, huh?
What a wonderful array of beauty here Lindsey! All your cards are fabulous! I totally loved the colors, the flowers and everything you included in this kit. Your fox card with the floral spray is so darling!! Those little treat boxes were a real treat too! So fun! Great job using your Zigs too. I still am learning how to use them well too. I guess that's half the fun. Thank you so much for being so kind. You truly are!!
ReplyDeleteLindsey thank you for sending us all such a fabulous kit. Not only were the colours fantastic but there were so many elements I have never seen before, so it was so fun to play with. Love each and every one of your cards today. The Flashy Florals along with the kindness quote stood out and I agree the black and white Adore You background is stunning!

ReplyDeleteOhhhhh, what a fabulous and sweet collection of cards Lindsey! Thank you so much for the most beautiful kit, I always love playing with supplies that I don't already have. I love what both you and Tracey did at the end of your post, taking a photo of all your cards together, what a wonderful look. Love your sweet treat box, just adorable. And your first card with that sweet fox and beautiful flowers, so pretty! Thank you again for taking the time to put this amazing kit together, I loved each piece of it.
ReplyDeleteWow you have been busy and so much beauty. Love them all and can see some cards I just have to try myself, adore the bouquet with the big HUGS. Perfect
ReplyDeleteSo much loveliness here, Lindsey. You can tell from your wonderful cards how much you loved all the items you included in the kit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific kit! I've loved hopping around to see the wonderful creations by the talented team. I especially love the last two cards. Leaving the floral image black and white created such a stunning card, and your watercoloring is just lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing kit you sent out. I have had such fun browsing everyone's blog and seeing what they have made. Love all of your cards. They are all stunning. And, you have inspired me with some ideas about my own stash.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, Lindsey, I absolutely adored this kit, thank you so much! I didn't own anything inside it so it was so fun to work with :) Now on to your masterpieces! The fox card is cute and stunning at the same time. The I adore you card is so sophisticated with the black and white flowers, I love how you stamped them, you made your own patterned paper! And then the hugs card? I mean that one is just so over the top, the coloring is gorgeous and the way that you highlighted the sentiment with the white was the best idea!
ReplyDeleteYour kit is a bonanza of amazing products, Lindsey! I'll bet the ladies had to wear bibs while looking through it so they didn't ruin anything with their drool!! You, my dear, have given all of us such outstanding inspiration with your stunning cards! I agree, that fox is THE most adorable I've seen! But the hugs card at the end, using my favorite floral image ever, is a design I will CASE and a frameable work of art! I use a paint brush, too, and think the resulting softer touches of color really suit the stamp!! Thank you very much for all the inspiration and for playing in my NBUS Challenge #10! Hugs, Darnell
