I totally forgot I made this card last week. I was super excited to see a
new Monday Mood Board at WPlus9. My original intent was to make a masculine card, so I drew inspiration from pretty much everything in the board except the lace and pink paper. However, after I stamped the sentiment I realized it definitely didn't look like something an 8-year-old boy would appreciate (the card was going to be for my cute nephew's baptism), so I had to totally rethink the card. If you're wondering why I have polka dots stamped in a stripe down the card, it is because I also started the card with the intent of following l
ast week's sketch from CAS(E) this sketch, but I ended up straying a bunch when I changed the purpose of the card. The dots bug me a bit and several times I considered starting over, but I just didn't have it in me. I adore the hanging clusters that the incredible
Debby Hughes uses on her cards (like
here and
here), and though I did not realize it while I was making this card, I'm sure her ideas influenced how my card turned out. :) Thanks for stopping by! I'm hoping to find some crafting time in the next few days and catch up on looking at everyone else's blog posts, too.

Great take on both challenges Lindsay. Perfectly CAS.
ReplyDeleteHi Lindsey! I love the dots going down the banner, gives it extra character. Love this card and the branch at the top! Love the tiny bits of bling on the leaves too.
ReplyDeleteI want to make a card for this mood board too, but I cant think of what to make.
We just went to our granddaughters baptism last Saturday.
What a superb card Lindsey! So stylish and I adore the colours :) Debby is a wonderful source of inspiration isn't she? Just wanted to let you know that you've won my little giveaway so please drop me an email when you get a moment to claim your prize - thank you! xxx
ReplyDeleteLinz, so beautiful. Wow.
ReplyDeleteWonderful take on the sketch! And I love the hanging branches, and the dots add a bit of interest!
ReplyDeleteYou're so adorable, Lindsey! You don't need to justify anything about this lovely card and Debby would be very proud of you! But I do agree that it might not excite an 8-year-old boy! LOL! I'm sure you made something that did excite him! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWonderful card. I was totally stumped by that mood board, but you really nailed it.
