From the Scrap Pile…

Hello!  I've got one last card to share this week.  One of my greatest crafty joys is being able to mix old and new products together, and on today's card I did just that.

This card started with a sentiment strip I stamped using Pretty Pink Posh’s Hugs Stamp Set, but didn’t end up using a few days ago.  When I was cleaning up I decided that instead of throwing it away I would pull out my bag of other leftover bits and pieces. I found  some grapefruit and honeysuckle hibiscus flowers, clover leaves, and a scallop frame.
I put them together and popped them up on patterned paper card base. Shocking, right? :) I finished the card off by cutting just the “friend” part of the Hello Friend die in white and honeysuckle.
This card has me thinking all sorts of things. First, I need to use up my scraps. Second, I need to use patterned paper more often. Third, flowers just make me happy.  I hope you get to enjoy something that makes you happy this weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs & Rainbows & Sunshine

Hello, friends!  Yesterday I spent the day in the sun helping at my son's school for Field Day, so I thought a bright, sunshiney card was in order.   I started with the Happy Days Stencils from Pretty Pink Posh's last release.  You really can't help but smile when you use them.

I blended on Concord and 9th's Buttercup, Aqua Sky, Honeysuckle, Navy inks to create this cheerful background.  Next, I stamped a sentiment strip in Honeysuckle from the Hugs Stamp Set and finished off my card with giant "hugs" cut using the coordinting die.
This card was a quickie, but the bright colors and large letters leave a big impact. Wishing you a day full of sunshine!

Geranium-ish Thank You

Good morning, friends!  I made a few cards, and I'm happy for a spare moment to hop on here and share one with you.  A few days ago I was cleaning a blending brush and saw Pretty Pink Posh's Geraniums Stencils nearby.  I figured if I was trying to rub out the ink on my brush I might as well do it with a stencil.  The brush I was cleaning had a little remaining Midnight ink from Concord & 9th on it, which turned into a soft blue on my card.

Realizing this definitely was not a typical geranium color, I decided to just go for it. I added The Stamp Market's Orchid ink to other petals and used Concord & 9th's Clover and Aqua Sky for the leaves.  Because of the atypical colors, this card reminds me more of hydrangeas.

I added a sentiment cut with Pretty Pink Posh's Thank You Script Die, which I layered multiple times in Eggplant cardstock for a little dimsion. Finally, I flicked white paint all over my card just for fun!
This card reminds me that often it’s best just to keep things simple. And also that the more I use stencils, the more I like them. :)
I hope you have a wonderful day!  Thanks for visiting!
