Good morning! It's starting to look like spring around here (minus the snow this last weekend), and each day it seems a new tree blossoms and more birds can be seen. We especially have a lot of robins in our neck of the woods. I was thinking about these sweet birds as I made these cards.
Pretty Pink Posh recently released the Layered Eggs Stencils. One stencil has just the eggs and the second layering stencil has cute patterns to dress up the egg. The results are fabulous together, but for today’s cards I used just the egg stencil. It always makes me happy when I can use my supplies in multiple ways.
I ran the egg stencil through my die cutting machine with rubber embossing mats in order create a panel with raised eggs. I kept the stencil in place and blended on soft pastel colors. I used Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, and Tattered Rose distress inks. It's okay to blend a little unevenly. I think the variation in color makes them look more realistic.
Finally, I used a paintbrush to splatter 2-3 additional colors onto the eggs. This last step really adds so much! And per the norm, I didn’t want to cover up my background once it was complete, so I stacked a few Fancy Easter Script Dies (aren’t they beautiful?!) and called it a day.
I really love the natural look of these eggs and I’m excited to mail these to my family. The eggs would have still been wonderful flat, but embossing them first really added something special. And the best part is that it didn't add any bulk to the card. I call that a big win!
As luck would have it, all of Easter products at Pretty Pink Posh are on sale this week. Hooray! You can click HERE to head on over and shop for your favorites. The Fancy Easter Script Dies and Layered Eggs Stencils are definitely two of mine.
Love the soft colors, Lindsey these are pretty!
