Good afternoon! I was going to share this card tomorrow, but I just can't wait another day. I absolutely love spring. I can't really describe how much joy I feel as I see the flowers begin to pop up in our yard. And each year the bulbs we've planted spread a little more and the garden beds look a little fuller...and each year I'm even a bit happier than the last. My sister also appreciates flower gardens, so I made this card just for her.
Now I love a good yellow daffodil, but truth be told, my favorites are the white with pink/coral centers. They are the second type of daffodils to bloom in our yard each year, and the ones I anticipate the most. I tried to create a little snapshot of the garden bed here with leaves and flowers going this way and that. I love a good bouquet, but I think I love the playful feel of this even more.
To create my card, I stamped and die cut lots of Pretty Pink Posh's Daffodils and colored them with a few alcohol markers in a bold, simple strokes. I also die cut the largest of the PPP Slimline: Scallop Frames, arranged the flowers around it, and adhered them on top of a sheet of clear cardstock. (My favorite part is that some of the flowers pop out of the frame.) I raised the hole panel up with foam tape to create a shaker, which I filled with 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins because they remind me of the rain that we see so often this time of year.
The finishing touch on my card was the PPP Happy Birthday Script Dies. These delicate words are super bendy, which made them really easy to arc and fit in the slimline size.
I sure hope you enjoy this card as much as I do. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit today! And just so you know, I'll be back in a bit with another daffodil card. I just can't share it yet because it hasn't quite made its way to the recipient. Oh, and don't forget that Pretty Pink Posh is having a SALE on all their stamps, dies, and stencils this week! A great time to snatch something up that you've been eyeing. ;)
I do love this, Lindsey and I think your sister will too! I love the playful look you've created. Those sparkling raindrops were a wonderful addition!
ReplyDeleteYeppers, still loving it this morning! Now explain to me again why we don't live next door? xo
