Wedding Congrats with *Embossing Paste

Hello, friends!  Inspired by Papertrey's Make It Monday #176: Backgrounds with Embossing Paste, I tried embossing paste for the first time last night.  Actually it was modeling paste, but it works the same. :) I didn't have re-inkers in all the colors I wanted, so I used Laura's tip and just smushed some ink on my surface, then rubbed it into the modeling paste.  (PS Have I ever mentioned that Laura is one of my most favorite crafters ever? And she's a hoot.  It doesn't get better than that.)  This CAS card was also inspired by The Card Concept #16 to create a wedding card using this photo as inspiration.
I pulled from the colors, using vellum to represent the glass in the photo.  When I first looked at the photo, the rims of the glasses appeared to be dipped in gold, so the twine on the tip of the vellum banner was supposed to represent that.  Of course now that I look at the photo, I don't actually think the rims are dipped, but oh well.  Because I'm such a tactile person, I had tons of fun playing with the modeling paste....I can definitely see myself using it again in the near future. :)

  8. I adore Laura too :) Love your card...I have to admit to being afraid of embossing paste. Does it dry fast? Trying to get up the courage to give it a go!

  9. Very sweet, Lindsey! My first card was tinted embossing paste (well...spackle) and it all went well until I stamped the very last thing crooked!!! Moved right along! This, however, is perfect. Gorgeous colors, and a beautiful design. Love this one! Bev

  23. Okay...I seriously did not 'see' the glass in the inspiration photo!!! I love how you used the velum to capture that element on your card!

AWESOME results for your first attempt at using embossing paste (something I have yet to try!). Adding the wee twine bow is the perfect touch for a sweet, clean & simple design. Thanks so much for sharing your card with us at the Card Concept Challenge :)
