12 Kits of Occasions - You're a Good Egg

Good morning!  Though I'm shocked we're already at the end of May, the last day of the month is always fun because it means I get to share my cards for The 12 Kits of Occasions.  It's always so fun to see what my friends put in their kits each month, and this month was especially fun because everything our lovely host Nancy put in it was new to me.  It pulled me out of my comfort zone, but I think these cards came together quicker than any other kit I've worked with. (Don't forget you can see the full supply list for the kit HERE.)  I made my cards in sets of two, so without further adieu, here are my cards.
This farm themed kit had lots of chickens in it, and the chickens from Stampin' Up's Hey Chick set were my absolute favorites.  Aren't they fun?  They just make me laugh.
I wanted those fabulous hens to take center stage, so I kept the layout simple.  I simply cut some of the patterned paper with one of Concord & 9th's Select-A-Size Edge Dies (love them!) and finished it off with a die from the kit: Hey Y'all by Frantic Stampers.
Nancy did all the hard work for this card.  She cut and pieced together the  chicken, so all I had to do is cut a few banners and layer them on this fun Chicken Wire background from Stampin' Up.
I was pretty lucky to get this next duo of cards made.  My daughter loved all the stamps from Lawn Fawn's Hay There and Rub-a-Dub-Dub sets and every couple minutes kept snatching another animal from my pile.  By the time I finished these cards there was only one animal left that she hadn't swiped. :)
My favorite discovery while making this card was that MFT's Zig Zag Stiched Circle Dies make a great sun.
This last card was my family's favorite.  They loved that the barn doors open.  I used a bunch of goodies from Nancy's kit, only adding a few clouds in the sky and "thanks" from Concord & 9th's Fabulous Phrases Dies.
And here's the line up all together.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Make sure you head to the The 12 Kits of Occasions Blog, so you can see how all the wonderful ladies in the group and our guests used their kits.  You're headed for lots of fun inspiration. :)

Where Creativity Meets C9 Sneak Peek

Hello, friends!  I'm over on the Where Creativity Meets C9 blog this morning sharing a card that I just LOVE.  While I was making the card I just started crying.  I was completely overcome with how grateful I was to feel well enough to make a card again.  It was sweet moment and realization of answered prayers.  So this card means a lot.  I hope you'll go to the Where Creativity Meets C9 blog to check it out.  Wishing you a wonderful day!

Mother's Day Cards

My own dear mother is as amazing as they come, but I have been blessed to have many "mothers" through different seasons of my life.  So when Mother's Day rolls around I find myself needing several cards.  These are just two that I made, and since I was on a time crunch I used the same basic layout for both cards.  First I stamped an outline image lightly all over the card base and then I popped up one colored focal image.
My momma loves pink, so I made this one for her using Technique Tuesday's Enjoy Layered Flower.  Isn't it pretty?  And it is so easy to stamp.  Love that!  My second card uses Technique Tuesday's Lilac stamp set and dies that were just released this month.
I have to tell you a little story about lilacs.  I was so happy to get this stamp because I love lilacs.  My grandmother had lilacs in her yard.  I loved how they smelled and how they would cover the giant bushes in gorgeous blossoms, but most of all I loved that they reminded me of her.  When we moved into our house about three years ago we had an unruly bush growing through our fence.  My husband cut it down; however, it seemed determined to grow.   When it came back it wasn't growing through the fence anymore, so we just let it stay.  After all, it did have beautiful leaves.  About a month or so ago I was clearing the flower bed next to the bush, and I found the most wonderful surprise tucked against the fence...lilacs!  I instantly thought of my grandmother and shed a few joyful tears at such a delightful little blessing to find this sentimental flower in my very own yard.
I hope that you have the most wonderful Mother's Day.  I know that this isn't an easy holiday for many, but I do hope that you feel oh so loved on this special day.  Thanks for stopping by!

Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge #21

Good morning!  I'm so glad to be back playing along with the newest challenge at Where Creativity Meets C9.  The theme for Challenge #21 is floral!
The theme for Challenge #21 is floral.  Awesome, right?  I love love LOVE flowers and plants, so I was happy as could be to see the theme.  Concord &  9th has some fantastic new floral sets and several of my teammates have used them beautifully, so make sure you check out the Where Creativity Meets C9 Blog. Today I'm showing some love to some older sets because I love how they stand the test of time.  To build my floral background I started with the rose and navy blue flowers and grey leaves, which come from Concord & 9th's Pineapple Perfection.  After stamping them on the card base, I stamped several extra rose colored flowers and popped them up for some added dimension.  Then I filled in the gaps with the large berry and sprig from Concord & 9th's Wildflower stamp set..
I finished my card with a sentiment created with stamps from Sophisticated Script (hugs) and
Best Banners (from me to you) and a sprinkling of sequins.
I can't wait to see what you create for our floral challenge.  Whether you use old or new stamp sets, Concord and 9th has tons of florals to choose from.  And don't forget, you can check out their brand new release HERE.  Without fail there is always something to love...lots of somethings! :)
