Sunny Make It Monday

Hello, again!  We've had some beautiful weather (yay!) and a very busy week/weekend, so although I meant to post this a few days ago, I'm just getting to it now.  While I had the supplies out for my PTI hop card, I decided to use them to try out Make It Monday #206: Stamping and Mixing Patterns.  Patterns are kind of a weakness for me, but it's always good to stretch yourself, right?  The card turned out a lot busier than I usually prefer, but I suppose that was to be expected since I was covering the entire thing with various patterns.  Had time allowed I think I would have liked to try again using the patterns in more of my typical simple style.  Sometimes when I try something new I sort of lose "me" in the card, and I can always tell when I'm finished.  Regardless, I learned a few new things, stepped out of my comfort zone, and enjoyed pulling out some NBUS to create my patterned papers.
This card is joining the fun at Darnell's latest NBUS Challenge #4.  This is the first time that teeny tiny cupcake has ever seen ink, and I also used  PTI's Polka Dot Parade #12 for the first time.  Although I still feels like I haven't really used the set yet because I turned one of the candles over and just stamped the backside, so I would have a fatter stripe for my patterned paper.  I'm also linking this up for the Simon Says Wednesday "Anything Goes Challenge".  I've got a few things to check off my list before I can turn in for the night, so I better run.  I hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend!

Supplies (all PTI unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Blue Skies, Polka Dot Basics, Polka Dot Parade #12 Tiny Treats: Birthday, Space Ships & Robots (My Cute Stamps)
Ink: Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, Hawaiian shores, Summer Sunrise, True Black, Tropical Teal
Other: oval punch (Marvy Uchida)

  2. Love this Lindsey! To make a dp out of those adorable cupcakes is the cleverest! Then the bottom sprinkle paper... well, brilliant, and beautiful! Love the joyous orange strip in the center too. And the sentiment is icing on the cupcake! Fun, fun, fun!

  3. You did a fabulous job, Lindsey! I love the sprinkles paper and I never would have guessed that you had stamped the striped paper. This one was a challenge for me also, but still fun.

  10. You have no idea how inspiring this is for me, Lindsey! Well, maybe you do, since what you said about pp is how I feel, too. I have gobs of it, but I struggle with what works with what. It's easier with the 6x6 pads were everything matches, but I still think, ern, I'm not sure ... well, you did it and you did it brilliantly, so that's good to see! I think everything on your card tells the story you wanted to tell beautifully with that great sediment!! Thank you so much for playing again in my NBUS Challenge! Hugs, Darnell
