Muse Challenge #2

I stumbled upon the new Muse Card Club a couple nights ago and used their second challenge tonight as I created this card.  (This new club/challenge looks fun...structured, but open at the same time.)

The inspiration card by Suzanne Dahlberg had tons of elements that I loved. Okay, when you see my card, you'll probably wonder how in the world it relates to the inspiration card, but I promise...it does.
I decided to go with the color scheme, the patterns that stood out to me on the letters (stripes, polka dots), and the hearts.  I originally started going with the flowers and layers and more patterns, but lately "less is more" seems to suit me better.  The card I started creating just seemed messy to me, so I scrapped the whole thing and started over.  And I'm glad I did. :)  My favorite part of my final card....the curved sentiment.  Makes me wonder why I don't bend and curve my stamps more often.  Okay, here's one more photo...it's dark, but this shows the colors a bit more true to how they look in real life (especially the grey monkey).

  1. I totally see the inspiration card in your card Lindsey! I too sometimes like to simplify and take the things that most stand out to me. I just love the curve of the vine and that the monkey is holding a heart. Great CAS card! So glad you joined us over at Muse!

Thanks so much for leaving your super sweet and very thoughtful comments on my blog!!! :)

  6. I absolutely see where you are coming from with this, and I LOVE it! The curved sentiment is genius, as is how you hung the monkey on the curved leaf vine. A clean and simple masterpiece, Lindsey! I am amazed by your creativity and am so touched that you found some inspiration in my card. Thank you!
